Euro 2004 Football - Russia

Founded 1923  Fifa 1924 Russia football Euro 2004

Prospects for the European Football Championship 2004

The glory days when Russians were picking up the old Nations Cup, seems a long time ago.  Splitting up the USSR must have affected the overall team strength.  Indeed I think that Russia's slide will continue.  It does not bode well that their top scorer amongst the present squad was defender Ignashevich.  Having to face the hosts then another warm loving Iberian country does not bode well.  Russia footballers will be away home after three games.
