♦Vladimir Kush's BiographyVladimir Kush was born in Moscow, Russia on March 29th 1965. He lived in small wooden house on the northern edge of Moscow, near the forest-park Sokolniki. Incidentally this where Russian Tsars engaged in falconry. His father was a scientist, buy there was a rich line of artists in his family. At 17 Vladimir passed the entrance exams to Moscow Art Institute. A year later he was called up for compulsory military service. After 6 months his enlightened commander allowed, or even encouraged Vladimir to paint, albeit with a military theme. Later in 1987 Vladimir started selling his paintings in the Union of Artists. Then he had two break-throughs, a successful show in Germany and an exhibition in America. This set him on what he calls his American Odyssey Vladimir had a dream about the wanderings across the wide open spaces. This eventually took him to Maui in the Hawaiian islands. He thinks of Maui as the 'World's Navel, there the infinity of Great Ocean merges into the infinity of bottomless Cosmos. The 'umbilical cord' connects these open spaces, and I can see it through my super-telescope. In particular, he could see ancient spots of our universe, places where drops of space condense an then turn into drops of time......... Subscribe to Will and Guy's free 'Thought of the Day' email.
