River Crossing Test

The test is to get all 8 people safely across the river.  This is a test of logic.

Rules for the River Crossing

1. Only 2 people on the raft at a time.
2. The father can not stay with any of the daughters, unless the mother is also present.
3. The mother can not stay with any of the sons without their father's presence
4. The thief (striped shirt) can not stay with any family member if the Policeman is not also there.
5. Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft.

This is the result you are aiming for.

Have another read of the rules.  Absorb the rules that one parent can only be left with children of the same gender.  Realise that the thief will harm anyone unless the Policeman is there to stop them.  There is no limit on the number of crossings.
